about

'Journey Into Space' is a musical suite inspired by the poetry of Sean Street. A collaborative project, its live performance (part of the Liverpool Writing on the Wall Festival 2023) will bring together a sequence of poetry readings with live and recorded instrumental music. The sequence of pieces in this suite includes a series of musical miniatures interspersed with excepts from long process music pieces, resulting in a juxtaposition of two types of musical material exploring the relationship between 'micro' and 'macro' time.

"A sparkling addition to the musician’s endeavours, an album of weight and consideration…an album you cannot help but feel the force of Time within." - Ian D Hall, Liverpool.Sound and Vision

"Taken as a whole, this 33 minute experience is involving and invigorating, with the clever arrangements leaving nothing to chance as they transfix with a fragile, but somehow still immensely strong, beauty" - Steven Reid, Sea of Tranquility

"Journey Into Space is an album in its own right with twelve hypnotic and charming pieces to transport the listener into their own ‘space’. Whether this is via the delightful transit which starts the journey, or the atmospheric and textural amino. Or, with tangible links to epic The Mountain, the four-part mobile vignettes, and specifically mobile 1 (fragment) and mobile 4 (fragment), took this listener back to last year’s excellent Faldum album." - Bob Mulvey, The Progressive Aspect

"... a very mellow affair, there is a distinct pastoral feel to the recording sounding like it was recorded in a cottage in Wales... The gentle unfolding of notes and cascading strings reminding me of undulating hill’s or clouds slowly moving across the sky creating an almost zen-like feel to the music." - Robert Harrison, Nerve Magazine
